During your consultation, Dr. Chapin will listen carefully to your concerns, goals, and questions. Then he will explain the procedure in detail, perform a physical examination, and discuss key decision points. Dr. Chapin wants you to thoroughly understand how your new breasts will look and feel so that you are satisfied with your decision. The points of discussion will include breast augmentation incisions, implant types, implant sizes, , implant placement, recovery, and other topics.

As breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, you will need someone to drive you to and from the surgical facility and stay with you for at least the first 24 hours.

Following breast augmentation, the incision sites will be dressed, and a surgical bra will be placed to minimize swelling and provide support. You will need to wear a supportive bra, that does not contain any underwire, for several weeks as you heal.

You may experience pressure or discomfort for one to three days following your procedure, and you may find it difficult to lift your arms.

Typically, patients take a few days off from work following breast augmentation. For at least two weeks, you should avoid strenuous exercises, but Dr. Chapin recommends short, light walks to promote blood circulation and healing. Dr. Chapin will monitor your progress and let you know when to resume all daily activities, including exercise, typically in three to four weeks.

Breast augmentation costs vary by patient, depending on the implant choice and surgical technique required. Silicone gel breast implants look and feel the most natural. There is significantly less rippling with silicone gel implants in comparison to saline implants.

At the time of your consultation, Dr. Chapin will examine you and will personalize a plan specific to you. A breast lift is desirable when your nipple position is below the level of your breast fold.

Yes, there will be a small scar hidden in the bottom fold of your breast. These scars heal and fade nicely and are very well hidden.

Typically, most breast augmentation patients will notice enhancements to their overall figure immediately after surgery. However, you may also experience swelling that temporarily obscures your results. It may take three to four months for residual swelling to subside and for your implants to settle, revealing your full results.

You will experience long-lasting results from your breast augmentation by maintaining your healthy diet and exercise regimen. Breast implants are not considered lifelong devices, and as such, they should be replaced as often as recommended by your plastic surgeon.
